Biography

Kim Harris, MEd, serves as the Chief of Professional Services for Instructional Empowerment. With over 20 years of experience, her work is deeply rooted in her social mission to “impact the people who impact the world” by enhancing and elevating the strategies educators use to refine their personal leadership styles and drive meaningful change that empowers their colleagues and students. 

Before her tenure at Instructional Empowerment, Kim spent 14 impactful years with Cleveland City Schools, where she held various roles including classroom teacher, Curriculum Administrator, and High School Principal. Her commitment to deeper learning for all students inspired her to provide enriched learning experiences to students who may not have otherwise encountered them.  

Kim has excelled as a Staff Developer, Conference Speaker, Leadership Coach, District Lead, Field Director, and Executive Director of School Advancement at IE. Her expertise lies in guiding educators and school leaders to identify and implement rigorous instructional strategies tailored to the varied needs of today’s learners. This strategic focus has resulted in notable improvements in student achievement, school climate, and overall morale.  

Under her leadership, a school that faced persistent low achievement scores saw significant gains for the first time in seven years, successfully exiting state oversight. Another school, under her coaching, praised Kim for her ability to hold them accountable,  igniting the change they needed for success. 

Kim holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Master of Education in Adult Learning and Development from Cleveland State University. Her skills in strengthening internal systems enable leadership teams to remain responsive to evolving demands while executing strategic initiatives effectively.
