Lakewood Elementary: How This Florida School Substantially Outperformed Its District’s Learning Rates Through the Pandemic

  • Lakewood improved its math learning rate by 48%, while similar district schools saw a 9% decline.

• Reading Achievement: 
  • Lakewood increased its reading learning rate by 7%, while similar schools saw a 16-22% decline. 
  • The school performed 142% better in reading than the district average. 

• Closing Gaps: 
  • Lakewood closed math achievement gaps by up to 363% and reading gaps by up to 189%.
